Interview:
Amanda Kramer,
co-writer/director,
"Ladyworld"
Marking the directorial debut of Amanda Kramer, Ladyworld examines the tension that arises between eight teenage girls who believe they are trapped in a house damaged in an earthquake. What starts as a birthday party quickly becomes a terrifying quest for survival as the girls split into fractions led by Ariela Barer’s tentative Olivia and Annalise Basso’s manipulative Piper. They also come to suspect they are not alone in the house. Ladyworld also stars Ryan Simpkins, Atheena Frizzell, and Maya Hawke, the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Ladyworld will screen 5:10 p.m. Sept. 22 and 2:45 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Amanda Kramer is currently working on her next film, Paris Window, written by her Ladyworld cast member Noel David Taylor.
