"Something in the Dirt"
The new cosmic mindbender from directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Something in the Dirt finds two disparate L.A. residents investigating an unexplained phenomenon in their Laurel Canyon apartment building. New tenant Levi (Benson) and his neighbor John (Moorhead) discover by accident a strange and mysterious force in Levi’s apartment that creates zero gravity. John, a former math teacher with an interest in mysticism, religious phenomena, and conspiracy theories, persuades bartender Levi to help him film a documentary about their efforts to determine the source of the origin and the meaning of their discovery. What starts harmlessly with a fascination with a floating ashtray quickly turns into an obsessive quest for the truth. Something in the Dirt , which premiered locally during this year’s Fantastic Fest, opened Nov. 4 in Austin and will be available for digital and on-demand viewing beginning Nov. 22. Written by Benson, Something in the Dirt will also screen at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Blue Starlite Mueller. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead previously wrote and directed Resolution, Spring, The Endless, Synchronic, and the V/H/S Viral segment “Bonestorm.” They also directed two episodes of the Disney+/MCU series Moon Knight and two episodes of Netflix’s Archive 81. They will direct the majority of the episodes of Season 2 of the Disney+/MCU series Loki. Aired: Nov. 1, 2022. Web sites: https://www.xyzfilms.com/something-in-the-dirt |
