Austin Revolution Film Festival
Forced to sit out 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Austin Revolution Film Festival returns Feb. 15-19 with an expanded five-day in-theater event that combines the micro-budget U.S. and international indies selected for its both cancelled 9th edition and this year’s 10th edition. The Austin Revolution Film Festival, which will be held at The Radisson Hotel Austin North, opens Feb. 15 with the Austin-shot buddy comedy Texas AF. Other films with Austin or Texas ties include the family reunion dramedy Ranch Water, the thriller The Place We Hide, the comedy Ultimate World, the fan film Fabletown, and the drama I See a Darkness. Austin-based filmmaker and University of Texas associate professor of film Ya’Ke Smith will screen his short Brother and his anthology series The Pandemic Chronicles as well as host a panel devoted to the black experience in the United States. The Austin Revolution Film Festival also includes shorts, web series, music videos, panel discussions, and a closing night awards ceremony. Aired: Feb. 10, 2022.
