Girls Impact the World Film Festival
Presented by ConnectHer, the 6th annual Girls Impact the World Film Festival will be held 11 a.m. April 7 at St. Andrew's Dell Fine Arts Theater. Dedicated to social change through films about global women’s issues, the Girls Impact the World Film Festival features screenings of 20 finalist short films submitted by high school and undergraduate students. Susannah Joffe, a student filmmaker at St. Stephen's Episcopal School, is a finalist with A Truth, a short documentary portrait of a survivor of sex trafficking. The festival also will include panels devoted to women in media and young filmmakers. Panelists include Moana screenwriter and UT grad Pamela Ribon, Troublemaker Studios co-owner/vice-president and EYA Productions president Elizabeth Avellan, Pakistan filmmaker Sarah Jehaan Khan, and Korean-American actress Minji Chang.
