Interview:
Karyn Kusama,
director,
"The Invitation"
In director Karyn Kusama's thriller The Invitation, Will (Logan Marshall-Green) quickly gets the sense that the dinner party hosted by his ex-wife Eden (Tammy Blanchard) and her new husband David (Michael Huisman) is more than just an opportunity to get together with mutual friends they have not seen in a long time. Will's paranoia starts to get the better of him when Eden's new friend Pruitt (John Carroll Lynch) opens up about the tragedy in his life. The Invitation premiered locally at last year's SXSW Film Festival and opened April 8 in Austin. Karyn Kusama previously directed Girlfight, Aeon Flux, and Jennifer's Body. Director Karyn Kusama and writers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will participate in post-screening Q&As after the 7:35 p.m. and 10:35 p.m. April 16 showings and 4:20 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. showings on April 17 at the Alamo South Lamar.
