You can’t keep a Nazi zombie down. In writer/director Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, Col. Herzog’s undead army of SS troops return, this time with the intent to carry out 70 year-old orders to destroy a Norwegian town. Only Vegar Hoel’s Dead Snow survivor Martin and a trio of young Americans known as the “Zombie Squad” can stop Col. Herzog from his mission. Them and the Russian prisoners of war Martin raises from the dead. Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, which premiered locally during this year’s Fantastic Fest, is now available on VOD and will be available on home media on Dec. 9. Writer/director Tommy Wirkola discussed Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead during Fantastic Fest. At the time of the interview, Wirkola was still attached to direct the sequel to his the surprise international success of last year’s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. He has since announced that while he has completed the script for the sequel, as discussed during this interview, he will not direct it.
