Set in his adopted homeland of Italy, writer/director Abel Ferrara’s COVID-19-inspired political thriller Zeros and Ones pits brother against brother in a pandemic-stricken Rome. Ethan Hawke plays the dual roles of twins J.J. and Justin, the former a U.S. military operative on a secret mission in Rome during lockdown, the latter a revolutionary who may possess information J.J. needs to thwart an impending terrorist attack. Zeros and Ones is now available for digital and on-demand viewing. It will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on Jan. 4. Abel Ferrara previously directed Siberia, Pasolini, The Funeral, The Addiction, Body Snatchers, Bad Lieutenant, King of New York, Ms. 45, andThe Driller Killer. While Ethan Hawke appeared in Abel Ferrara’s 2008 documentary Chelsea on the Rocks, the experimental Zeros and Onesmarks the first collaboration between the actor and the veteran filmmaker.
