"The Long Dumb Road"
![]() In director Hannah Fidell’s comedy The Long Dumb Road, aspiring photographer Nathan’s Austin-L.A. road trip takes a wild and crazy turn when he agrees to give drifter Richard a ride to Nevada. Chaos follows Richard no matter where he and the long-suffering Nathan go, leaving Nathan in the unenviable position of trying to keep them alive and well as they make their way to their respective destinations. The Grand Budapest and Dope’s Tony Revolori stars as Nathan; The League and Brooklyn 911’s Jason Mantzoukas. The cast also includes Ron Livington, Casey Wilson, Pamela Reed, and Grace Gummer, and Taissa Farmiga, the star of Hannah Fidell’s Six Years. The Long Dumb Road will screen 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Paramount Theatre during the Austin Film Festival. The comedy also will be available digitally and on demand beginning Nov. 16. Former Austinite Hannah Fidell previously directed two locally shot dramas, A Teacher and Six Years. Fidell is currently adapting A Teacher into a miniseries for FX with Kata Mara attached to star in the role originated by Lindsay Burdge, who makes a cameo appearance in The Long Dumb Road alongside her costar Will Brittain. Note: The Long Dumb Road is now available for digital and on-deman viewing in advance of its Feb. 5 Blu-Ray and DVD release.
