The latest episode of Robert Rodriguez’ The Director’s Chair for his El Rey Network features the Austin-based director in conversation with the legendarily Francis Ford Coppola. During this hour-long interview, Coppola discusses why he became a director, the films he made prior to The Godfather, shooting The Conversation and The Godfather Part II back to back, the triumph of Apocalypse Now and the failure One from the Heart, and his decision to adapt the S.E. Hinton young adult novels The Outsiders and Rumble Fish. Previous episodes found Rodriguez interviewing Quentin Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro, and John Carpenter. The Francis Ford Coppola episode of The Director’s Chair will screen 7 p.m. March 2 on the El Rey Network and will be followed at 8 p.m. by The Conversation.
