Interview:
Tim Kirk,
writer/director,
"Director's Commentary:
Terror of Frankenstein"
The brainchild of director Tim Kirk and his cousin, screenwriter Jay Kirk, Director's Commentary: Terror of Frankenstein presents a darkly comical but absolutely fake account of the making of the 1977 tale of terror by Calvin Floyd that starred Leon Vitali as Victor Frankenstein and Per Oscarsson as the Monster. The faux director’s commentary features The Return of the Living Dead and Feast’s Clu Gulager and Romancing the Stone’s Zack Norman as the purely fictional creations responsible for bringing Terror of Frankenstein to life. Gulager’s director Gavin Merrill and Norman’s screenwriter David Falks sit down together to record a director’s commentary about the horrifying events that occurred during the making of Terror of Frankenstein and overshadowed its theatrical release. They are later joined by the real-life Leon Vitali, who “recalls” his memories of the making of a film that would go on to develop a cult following among so-called “Frankheads” because of one cast member’s murderous acts. Other Worlds Austin will screen Director's Commentary: Terror of Frankenstein at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Flix Brewhouse. Tim Kirk will participate in a post-screening Q&A via Skype. Tim Kirk is the producer of the Rodney Ascher-directed documentaries Room 237 and The Nightmare. He also produced Ascher’s The ABCs of Death 2 segment “Q is for Questionnaire.” Aired: Aug. 25, 2016 Web sites: http://www.terroroffrankenstein.com, https://www.facebook.com/terroroffrankenstein and http://www.otherworldsaustin.com |
