"Encounter"
In the Other Worlds Austin closing night film Encounter, a group of friends discover an alien lifeform with powers beyond their comprehension. With the FBI closing in, the friends race against time to determine whether the alien poses a threat to humanity. Written and directed by Paul J. Salamoff, Encounter stars WestWorld’s Luke Hemsworth as a grieving father whose interactions with the alien force him and his ex-wife to confront the car accident that claimed the life of their daughter and left him in wheelchair. The cast also includes The Fog and Halloween III: Season of the Witch’s Tom Atkins as a college professor seeking to provide answers to the questions posed by the alien’s arrival. Encounter will screen 7:40 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Flix Brewhouse in Round Rock during Other Worlds Austin with writer/director Paul J. Salamoff in attendance. Paul J. Salamoff, who has spent almost three decades working in special effects makeup, previously directed the 2015 short film The Last Breath. He also is the author of "On the Set: : The Hidden Rules of Movie Making Etiquette," which is published by Tavin Press and is now in its fourth edition.
