Interview:
Anlo Sepulveda,
co-director,
"Yakona"
Directed by Anlo Sepulveda and Paul Collins, the impressionistic documentary Yakona offers a visually hypnotic journey down the 75-mile San Marcos River as it traces its rich history and speculates about its uncertain future. Yakona, which premiered locally during this year’s SXSW Film Festival, will screen 8:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 6 p.m. Nov. 23 at the North Door with composer Justin Sherburn performing his score live. Anlo Sepulveda previously directed the Austin-shot narrative feature Otis Under Sky, while composer Justin Sherburn is a keyboardist with Okkervil River. He most recently wrote and performed the score to the 1929 experimental silent documentary Man With a Movie Camera with his side project, Montopolis. Justin Sherburn joins Anlo Sepulveda during this interview.
