Austin Asian American Film Festival
The Austin Asian American Film Festival returns Nov. 13-16 after a 5-year absence. The festival, which celebrates Asian and Asian American cinema, will be held at the Marchesa Hall & Theater. The festival opens Nov. 13 with Happiness, the new documentary by Babies director Thomas Balmes, and closes Nov. 16 with Cart, a fact-based drama from South Korean. Revenge of the Green Dragons, directed by Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo and executive produced by Martin Scoreses, will receive a centerpiece screening on Nov. 15. Other films include the dramedy Farah Goes Bang, the comedy Funny Money, and the drama Ice Poison. Executive director Leng Wong joins director of programming Curran Nault during this interview.
