"Undone" Rotoscope Animation Producers
The new Amazon Original series Undone features rotoscope animation produced by the Austin-based Minnow Mountain. Co-founded by Craig Staggs and Steph Swope, Minnow Mountain previously produced the animation for Keith Maitland’s documentary Tower, about the 1966 University of Texas tower shooting. Craig Staggs also worked as an animator on Richard Linklater’s sci-fi thriller A Scanner Darkly. Undone stars Alita: Battle Angel’s Rosa Salazar as Alma Winograd-Diaz, a daycare worker whose life takes an unusual turn following a near-fatal car accident. Alma begins to receive visits from her father Jacob (Bob Odenkirk), who died under mysterious circumstances one Halloween when Alma was a teenager. Jacob tells Alma the accident has altered her “temporal understanding of time and space,” which allows her to experience life in a nonlinear fashion. And Jacob wants Alma to investigate his death. Undone, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, also stars Constance Marie as Alma’s mother Camila, Angelique Cabral as Alma's younger sister Becca, Siddharth Dhananjay as Alma’s boyfriend Sam, and Daveed Diggs as Alma’s boss Tunde. Season 1 of Undone is now available for streaming at Amazon Prime.
