Interview:
Steven DeGennaro,
writer/director,
"Found Footage 3D"
Austin-based writer/director Steven DeGennaro takes aim at the rules and clichés of both the found-footage subgenre and the 3D format with appropriately titled Found Footage 3D. DeGennaro’s meta horror film finds a small film crew ensconced in a cabin in the woods as they shoot a found footage chiller in 3D. Only they are not alone. Found Footage 3D marks the directorial of sound mixer and designer Steven DeGennaro. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Kim Henkel serves as the producer of Found Footage 3D, which counts director Eric von Stroheim’s great-granddaughter Alena von Stroheim among its cast. Found Footage 3D will screen 11:45 pm. Oct. 15 at the Alamo Drafthouse Village and 10 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Galaxy Highland 9 during the Austin Film Festival. Note: The 2D version of Found Footage is streaming at https://www.shudder.com/. The 3D version will begin streaming on Oct. 26.
