"When We Last Spoke"
Based on the novel by Austin-based author Marci Henna, the Texas-set period dramedy When We Last Spoke examines the relationship between sisters Juliet and Evangeline in childhood and in adulthood. In the 1960s, the preteen sisters are sent by their neglectful mother to live with their compassionate grandparents Ruby and Walt in the fictional Texas town of Fireside. In the 1990s, the estranged sisters must must come together when Walt falls ill. When We Last Spoke is based on the first novel in Marci Henna’s "Fireside, Texas" literary series; Henna published the second novel, “What Lies Ahead,” in September. Henna is the executive producer of When We Last Spoke and co-wrote the script with Rick Eldridge, Jimmy Hager, and director Joanne Hock. When We Last Spoke stars Darby Camp and Alicia Fusting as the adult Juliet and Evangeline, respectively, Lacy Camp and Chandler Head as the preteen sisters, Melissa Gilbert as Ruby, Corbin Bernsen as Walt, and Cloris Leachman as the sisters’ great-grandmother Itasca. When We Last Spoke will screen 12:15 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Rollin Theatre and 3:15 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Galaxy Highland during the Austin Film Festival.
