"The Last of the Moonlight Towers"
Directed by Ray Spivey and Jeffrey Kerr, The Last of the Moonlight Towers chronicles the history of the wrought iron structures that have provided Austin with light and personality for more than 120 years. The documentary separates fact from fiction as it details the circumstances that led the city to purchase 31 towers for $113,500 and install in 1895. Only 17 of these historic state landmarks remain in place and active today. The Last of the Moonlight Towers will screen 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. May 12 at the AFS Cinema. The Last of the Moonlight Towers is also available on DVD. Aired: May 10, 2018 Web sites: http://www.moontowermovie.com |
