Summer in Austin is not the same without the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series, as we discovered in 2020. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Paramount Theatre to delay the 2020 series to the fall with an abbreviated lineup of selections, the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series returns May 27 with its traditional opening night attraction, Casablanca. The lineup announced through July 3 includes programs devoted to Marlon Brando, Alfred Hitchcock, musicals, superheroes, and classic films celebrating their 25th or 50th anniversary. The series is scheduled to run through Labor Day, with the rest of the programming to be announced monthly.
