Evan McNary,
co-writer/director,
"Ragged Heart"
![]() Set against the backdrop of the Athens, GA., music and folk art scenes, director Evan McNary's supernatural-tinged family drama Ragged Heart focuses on a grieving father's efforts to honor the memory of his recently deceased daughter. Has-been musician Wyatt Galloway (newcomer Eddie Craddock) comes to believe his daughter, singer-songwriter Miranda Caldwell (Willow Avalon), is communicating with him from beyond the grave. Of great concern is the last song Miranda wrote, which finds its way into Wyatt's hands. While waiting for Miranda to signal her intentions for the song, Wyatt sets off to uncover the truth behind Miranda's drowning death. Ragged Heart also stars The Walking Dead's Josh Mikel, as Miranda's controlling boyfriend and music producer Declan Purcell, and Monsoon vocalist Sienna Chandler as up-and-coming singer-songwriter Quinn. Ragged Heart screens during the Austin Film Festival at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin. Evan McNary makes his feature directorial debut with Ragged Heart, which he wrote with his sister Debrah McNary. Posted: Oct. 26, 2021.
