Directed by Houstonite Zach Jankovic, the short documentary The Astronaut’s Secret examines the health crisis faced by Michael “Rich” Clifford, who in 1996 performed the first American spacewalk when the Space Shuttle Atlantis was docked with the Russian Space Station Mir. Clifford was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease two years before the mission. The Astronaut’s Secret will screen as part of the Houston Film Commission’s Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase 2014, which will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre.
