Interview:
Jeffrey Radice, director,
"No No: A Dockumentary"
On June 12, 1970, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis threw a no-hitter against the San Diego Padres. In 1984, he claimed he pitched the no-hitter while high on LSD. Director Jeffrey Radice (left) and producer Mike Blizzard’s No No: A Dockumentary examines the circumstances surrounding Ellis’ no-hitter as well as the late pitcher’s baseball career, his fight against drug addiction, and his post-baseball work as a counselor. The documentary includes interviews with many of Ellis' friends, family members, and former teammates, as well as Ron Howard, who directed Ellis in the 1986 Michael Keaton comedy Gung-Ho. No No: A Dockumentary will screen at 9:30 p.m. March 15 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre during the SXSW Film Festival. Producer Mike Blizzard joins director Jeffrey Radice during this interview.
