"Rosewood"
Created by Psych’s Todd Harthan, the upcoming Fox procedural drama Rosewood stars Morris Chestnut as Miami private pathologist Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. He performs autopsies to assist the Miami Police Department solve seemingly unsolvable cases. The show, which will begin airing in the fall at 7 p.m. central Wednesdays before Empire, also stars Jaina Lee Oritz as Rosewood’s police liaison, Det. Villa. Rosewood’s pilot aired June 7 during the ATX Television Festival with Chestnut, Ortiz, and Harthan in attendance. Chestnut made his film debut in 1991’s Boyz n the Hood and went on to star in The Best Man and its sequel The Best Man Holiday, The Brothers, Two Can Play That Game, Like Mike, Ladder 49, Think Like a Man, and The Call. He will next be seen in the thriller The Perfect Guy, which opens Sept. 11, as well as Bus 657 with Robert De Niro and next year’s The Best Man Wedding. He also recently appeared in the ABC’s V reboot and Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. He also appears in the crime drama Legends, which returns to TNT this fall.
