June 2022 Programming
The Austin Film Society’s AFS Cinema presents director Joachim Trier's The Oslo Trilogy, comprised of Reprise, Oslo, August 31st, and The Worst Person in the World, in June 2022. Special screenings include Primera, with director Vee Bravo and documentary participants in attendance; Bat City Cinema and the American Gene Film Archive Satanageddon! double bill of Satan War and Spectre; and The Best Years of Our Lives hosted by "Making The Best Years Of Our Lives" author Alison Macor. New releases include Austin-based director Ben Masters' Texas wildlife documentary Deep in the Heart, Neptune Frost, and The Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour 2022. Gong Li returns in the Modern Masters selection Saturday Fiction. Other repertory and newly restored screenings include Boom!, The Women, The Black Stallion, Mississippi Masala, The Harder They Come, and the Lates offerings Dogs in Space and Institute Benjamenta. The AFS Cinema also hosts the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival and the Austin Asian American Film Festival.
