Bullock Texas State History Museum
The Bullock Texas State History Museum IMAX theater underwent renovations in 2016 that included the installation of a laser projection system and an enhanced 12-channel sound system. The IMAX theater reopened in October 2016 with the Terrence Malick documentary Voyage of Time: The IMAX Experience, which runs through April 28, and is currently showing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story through Jan. 19. The museum also holds repertory screening at its Texas Spirit Theater. The Texas Focus series continues 7 p.m. Jan. 5 with the documentary Honky Tonk Heaven: Legend of the Broken Spoke. Launched last year, the Femme Film Fridays film series will continue Jan. 27 with the Maggie Smith drama The Prime of Miss Brodie. Also, Texas Spirit Theater will host Austin Film Society screenings over the coming months while the AFS Cinema undergoes renovations.
