Austin Asian American Film Festival
The Austin Asian American Film Festival returns June 23-26 to the AFS Cinema with its first in-person event since 2019. Devoted to Asian and Asian-American films, the festival opens June 23 with director Tom Huang’s family drama Dealing With Dad and June 26 with the Austrian coming-of- tale Sonne. The Korean-American family documentary Liquor Store Dreams will screen June 25 at the festival’s centerpiece film. The festival also will screen the narrative features Actual People, Lucid, A New Old Play, and Tehranto and the documentaries Borderlands, Free Chol Soo Lee, Hidden Letters, and Terrible Children.
