Austin Music Video Festival
Lemonade will be the drink of choice during this year’s Austin Music Video Festival, which will run Sept. 7-10 at various venues, including the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, Alamo South Lamar and Scratch House. The festival will open Sept. 7 with a screening of Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade at the Alamo Ritz. It will continue with screenings of such feature-length and short documentaries as Beep: A Documentary History of Game Sounds, Fat Wreck Chords, Mondo Fuzz: Twilight of the Idols, and Leon Bridges' This is Home. In addition to programs devoted to music videos by local and national acts, the festival will screen retrospectives of work by The Octopus Project, Mother Falcon and Arcade Fire, celebrate the best Austin City Limits performances from the past 42 years, and present a virtual-reality and interactive music video sidebar. There also will be workshops, panels, and an awards show. Austin Music Video Festival co-founders Jeremy Roye (left) and Anthony Ericsson (right) discuss this year's festival.
