Feminine Identities: A Winter Showcase
![]() The Austin Asian American Film Festival’s Feminine Identities: A Winter Showcase, which will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6, 7, 13 and 14 at the AFS Cinema. The showcase will feature four contemporary films that present distinct portraits of the Asian female identify here and outside of the United States; three of the films are directed by Asian-American women. The showcase kicks off Nov. 6 with Kulap Vilaysack’s documentary Origin Story and continues Nov. 7 with Joanne Mony Park’s drama Fish Bones and Nov. 13 with Adele Free Pham’s documentary Nailed It, and ends Nov. 14 with Jafar Panahi’s Iran-set drama 3 Faces. The Austin Asian American Film Festival also will screen director Bi Gan's Long Journey Into Night, in 3D, at 7:40 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller.
