Interview:
Liam O’Donnell,
writer/director,
"Skylin3s"
After opening the 2017 Other Worlds Film Festival with his Skyline sequel Beyond Skyline, writer/director Liam O’Donnell returns to the Austin-based sci-fi film festival with his latest installment in the franchise, Skylin3s. The threequel, which continues to chronicle the conflict between humans and an invading alien race known as the Harvesters, will kick off this year’s virtual Other Worlds Film Festival on Dec. 1. Lindsey Morgan, the 100 star who attended the University of Austin, returns to Skyline franchise as Rose, whose alien-enhanced DNA allows her to commandeer Harvester technology. Five years after leading the assault on the Armada vessel, Rose embarks on a mission to save the freed human-alien bio-mechanical soldiers known as pilots from a deadly pandemic of unknown origin that is spreading rapidly around the world. Rose and her team travel to the alien home planet of Cobalt 1 to recover the mothership’s core drive, which holds the technology to cure the pilots. Skylin3s also stars Jeremy Fitzgerald as Rose’s pilot brother Trent, Daniel Bernhardt and Jonathan Howard as Rose’s crew members, Alexander Siddig as Rose’s commander General Radford, and Rhona Mitra as Dr. Mal, a physician dedicated to treating the ailing pilots. Liam O’Donnell co-wrote and produced Skyline, wrote and directed Beyond Skyline, and contributed as a writer/producer/director to the 2019 sci-fi anthology Portals. Skylin3s will receive a theatrical, PVOD, and digital release on Dec. 18.
