Interview:
Kestrin Pantera,
director,
"Pretty Problems"
Would you accept an invitation to spend a weekend with a total stranger? This is the question that director Kestrin Pantera's comedy Pretty Problem tackles. At a crossroads in her life, fashion store assistant Lindsay (co-writer Britt Rentschler) immediately hits it off with the rich and bored customer, Cat (J.J. Nolan), so much that Lindsay agrees to hang for a few days with Cat and her husband Matt (Graham Outerbridge) at their swanky Wine Country compound. Accompanied by her reluctant husband Jack (co-writer Michael Tennant), Cat quickly learns that the obscenely wealthy are different from the rest of us. Pretty Problems also stars Alex Klein and co-writer Charlotte Ubben as Cat's equally rich friends. Pretty Problems will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 14 at ZACH Theatre and 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at the Violet Crown Cinema. Pretty Problems is also available for SXSW Film Festival registrants to stream online for 48 hours beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 15. Kestrin Pantera previously directed the Austin-shot Mother's Little Helpers and Let's Ruin It With Babies. Note: Pretty Problems is available for digital and on-demand viewing beginning Oct. 7.
