Indie Meme Film Festival
Dedicated to bringing the best in South Asian and Iranian cinema to Austin, the 9th Indie Meme Film Festival runs in-person April 17-21 at the AFS Cinema and online May 3-5. The in-person festival’s soft opening begins April 17 with the animated speculative drama Sultana’s Dream and continues April 18 with the narrative features Shivamma, Amar Colony, In Flames, and Mithya. The festival will screen its opening night film Footprints on Water on April 19. The rest of the Indie Meme lineup comprises of the narrative features Bahadur: The Brave, Girls Will Be Girls, Pushtaini (Ancestral), Something Like an Autobiography, Sthal (A Match), and Terrestrial Verses and the documentaries Against the Tide and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is Family). All in-person Indie Meme Film Festival features, plus exclusive shorts packages, will be available for virtual viewing with the exception of Footprints on Water, Girls Will Be Girls, Sthal (A Match), and Terrestrial Verses.
