James Morosini,
star/writer/director,
"I Love My Dad"
What would you do if a parent catfished you? In the comedy I Love My Dad, the unreliable and absence father Chuck (Patton Oswalt) finds himself so estranged from his adult son Franklin (writer/director James Morosini) that he steals the online identity of a young woman Becca (Claudia Sulewski) to "friend" Franklin. At first, Chuck's charade allows him more access to Franklin than he's had in years due to the intimacy that quickly develops between Franklin and "Becca." But Chuck's plan goes awry when Franklin—who is dealing with mental health issues—declares his love for "Becca." I Love My Dad will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12 at the Alamo South Lamar, 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at the Violet Crown Cinema, and 3:45 p.m. Friday, March 18 at ZACH Theatre. I Love My Dad is also available for SXSW Film Festival registrants to stream online for 48 hours beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 13. James Morosini, who played Coach Dalton on Season 1 of The Sex Lives of College Girls, previously directed Threesomething.
