Driftwood-based photographer Dan Winters is known across the world for his celebrity portraits and scientific photography. The National Geographic episode Photographer: Dan Winters looks at the man behind the camera, from the childhood events that prompted his interest in photography to his relationship with his wife Kathryn and their son Dylan to his diagnosis of and fight with bipolar disorder. The documentary, directed by Pagan Danielle Harleman and produced by Gene Gallerano, also follows Winters to Florida to photograph NASA's Artemis 1 small spacecraft launch in 2022 and to Bangladesh to shoot the workers at one of the world's biggest shipyards. Photographer: Dan Winters screens during the SXSW Film & TV Festival at 6 p.m. March 11 at the Rollins Theater at The Long Center.
