Housecore Horror Film Festival
Founded by heavy metal icon Phillip H. Anselmo and author Corey Mitchell, the Housecore Horror Film Festival debuted last year with an impressive line-up of old and new genre films, a tribute to Lucio Fulci, and Italian prog rock band Goblin performing its score to Dario Argento’s 1977 Suspiria. This year’s Housecore Horror Film Festival will feature cast reunions of both The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2; a tribute to the late Marilyn Burns; the world premiere of American Guinea Pig; screenings of festival and indie faves The Babadook, Circus of the Dead, Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, and Hellion; retrospective screenings of such chillers as Creepers, Race With the Devil, and Shock Waves; and performances by Danzig, GWAR, Napalm Death, and Phillip H. Anselmo’s Superjoint. The Housecore Horror Film Festival will run Oct. 23-26 at Emo’s and Midway’s.
