Interview:
Todd Rohal,
director,
"Uncle Kent 2"
Joe Swanberg’s 2011 comedy Uncle Kent introduced us to the fictional version of Kent Osborne, a writer for such animated TV shows for Adventure Time, Camp Lazlo, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Osborne returns as his sexually frustrated onscreen alter ego in the Todd Rohal-directed Uncle Kent 2. The sequel finds Osborne at the San Diego Comic-Con, where he soon begins to lose his grip on reality. Or is he? Uncle Kent 2, which premiered during the 2015 SXSW Film Festival, is now available for video on-demand viewing via Amazon, iTunes and Vimeo, among others. Austin-based Todd Rohal previously directed the features The Guatemalan Handshake, The Catechism Cataclysm and Nature Calls, the shorts Rat Pack Rat and M.O.P.Z, and episodes of the Netflix sitcom Haters Back Off!. He also contributed the segment P is for Scary to ABCs of Death 2.
