"Barge"
Director Ben Powell’s SXSW documentary Barge captures the work undertaken during the 28-day shift of the crew of the M.V. Mary Parker towboat as they take their cargo down the Mississippi River to and from the port of New Orleans to the Port of Rosedale in Mississippi. Barge will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 3 p.m. March 14 at the Alamo South Lamar, 6:30 p.m. March 15 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre, 12 p.m. March 17 at the Alamo Slaughter, and 1:30 p.m. March 20 at the Stateside Theatre. The Austin-based Ben Powell previously directed the short documentaries Savage Tales and Phil Collins and the Wild Frontier. He also serves as the cinematographer of the SXSW documentary A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story.
