Interview:
Blake DeLong,
"Thank You a Lot"
Country singer-songwriter James Hand and Blake DeLong play estranged father and son in writer/director Matt Muir’s Austin-shot Thank You a Lot. With his job on the line, DeLong’s music manager Jack Hand is tasked with signing his father James, a musician with a cult following who has deliberately kept a low profile at a time when he could be enjoying a career renaissance. Thank You a Lot is not biographical despite James Hand playing a singer-songwriter who happens to be called James Hand. Thank You a Lot will screen 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Alamo Drafthouse Village. Blake DeLong discusses acting opposite James Hand, shooting a pivotal scene at KOOP 91.7 FM for Thank You a Lot, and his upcoming guest role in the NBC series The Blacklist.
