Interview:
Joe Barajas,
director,
"Hollow Scream"
What’s in a location? Just ask actor/director Joe Barajas. A business trip to the Scream Hollow Wicked Halloween Park in Bastrop immediately prompted Barajas to reach out to screenwriter David L. Carter to pen a horror film that factors the park’s haunts into its shooting locations. The result is Hollow Scream, a high-tech slasher yarn about an experimental virtual reality game that allows participants to play as a maniac, a slasher, or a serial killer. Barajas stars as Peter Benjamin, a playboy courted to invest in the V.R. venture by Elizabeth Maxwell’s game developer Brenna Brolin. At Brolin’s invitation, Benjamin plays the game as the serial killer Shadow (Kevin Brown). As Benjamin stalks a group of horny campers, his brother John (Harold Fisch) quickly realizes that there is more to the game than meets the eye. Hollow Screamalso stars voice performer Elizabeth Maxwell as Brenna Brolin, Good Feels on Wheel’s Harold Fisch as John, newcomer Kevin Brown as Shadow, and Trippin’ to the Altercast members Ann LeuVoy, Lara Shah, Ariana Guerra, Oryan Landa, Jordan Michael Brinkman as the campers. Hollow Scream is now available for VOD viewing. Joe Barajas previously directed the web series Josep and Shawn and produced the new short documentary San Marcos River Project.
