"Unidentified Objects"
Directed by Juan Felipe Zuleta, the dramedy Unidentified Objects finds Internet sex worker Winona hitting the road during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to rendezvous with the aliens whom she claims abducted her decades earlier when she was a teenager. She recruits her skeptical unemployed neighbor Peter to accompany her on her illegal crossing of the U.S.-Canadian border. While Winona looks forward to a future filled with exciting possibilities, Peter must contend with the ridicule and prejudice he has faced throughout his life as both a little person and a gay man. Sarah Hay plays Winona and Matthew Jeffers plays Peter. Unidentified Objects will screen at 11 a.m. Sept. 23 and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Unidentified Objects will also be available to stream from Sept. 29 through Oct. 4 during Fantastic Fest’s virtual event FF@Home. Juan Felipe Zuleta makes his feature film directorial debut with Unidentified Objects. Sarah Hay previously starred in Mid-Century and The Mortuary Collection as well as the TV miniseries Flesh and Bone. Matthew Jeffers currently stars in the TV series New Amsterdam.
