The All Genders, Lifestyles, and Identities Film Festival’s Prism 34 runs Aug. 26-Sept. 6 with both in-person and virtual screenings and events. Exclusive in-person screenings include the opening night documentary Blitzed: The 80s Blitz Kids Story on Aug. 26 at the Paramount Theatre, the centerpiece film Boulevard! A Hollywood Story on Aug. 28 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, a special screening of the British musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie on Aug. 29 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, and the closing night drive-in narrative selection Shit & Champagne on Sept. 5 at Pioneer Farms. aGLIFF will celebrate this year’s Legacy Honoree Madeleine Olnek with a retrospective screening of the director’s 2011 comedy Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks on Aug. 28 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin. The hybrid Prism 34 will also include narrative and documentary competition films, international selections, a genre sidebar, a Querzploitation collection of films by Erika Lust and Fred Halsted, retrospectives, the premiere of Boy Culture: The Series, and multiple short film programs. The majority of Prism 34’s in-person screening will be held at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, while films premiering virtually will be available to watch through the run of the film festival. In addition, there will be various in-person events, including an opening night party, a Queer Black Voices event, an evening of bourbon and barbecue and the Big Queer Quiz Thing. Virtual events include the Unnecessary Sequels comedy gameshow, Dirty Queer Story Time, DJ Mel’s Living Room Dance Party, and the aGLIFF Happy Hour with Dixie Longate!

All indoor screenings will now be held at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, including opening night film Blitzed: The 80s Blitz Kids Story on Aug. 26. Blitzed and Boulevard! A Hollywood Story will also now stream as part of the virtual festival. Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same, directed by Legacy Honoree Madeleine Olnek, will now be virtual screening only and will include a special live Q&A. The opening night party and the Silent Cinema Disco have been canceled; the Big Queer Quiz Thing is now a virtual event; and the Queer Black Voices dinner and the Bourbon & Barbecue fundraiser will be held at a later date.
