Directed by Austin Film Society grant recipient Morrisa Maltz, the documentary Ingrid offers an intimate portrait of an elderly German-American woman who left behind a comfortable life in Dallas to live a solitary existence near the Ouachita National Forest in Oklahoma. Maltz captures former fashion designer and creature of habit Ingrid Gipson as she undertakes her daily routines, which includes creating her outsider art, completing construction projects, making her own clothes, and raising farm animals for food. Ingrid will screen at 7 p.m. July 31 at the AFS Cinema with director Morrisa Maltz in attendance. Ingrid representsMorrisa Maltz’s feature-length directorial debut.
