"Me and Earl and the Dying Girl"
Based on the book by Jesse Andrews, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl stars Thomas Mann as Greg, a socially awkward high school student who is forced by his mother to visit Rachel (Olivia Cooke) when Rachel is diagnosed with leukemia. Greg and Rachel strike up a friendship that forces Greg to confide to Rachel that he makes short remakes of classic films with his only friend, Earl (RJ Cyler). Things get complicated between Greg and Earl when they are asked to make a film that celebrates Rachel's life. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, which is directed by the Laredo-born Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, opened June 27. Thomas Mann, who plays Greg, previously starred in Project X, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Welcome to Me. Olivia Cooke, previously starred in The Signal, The Quiet Ones, and Ouija, and currently plays Emma Decody on A&E TV’s Bates Motel. RJ Cyler, who plays Earl, makes his feature film debut with Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Olivia Cooke and RJ Cyler join Thomas Mann during this interview.
