In writer/director Bob Byington’s Austin-shot comedy 7 Chinese Brothers, Jason Schwartzman’s thirtysomething Larry must wrestle with the workplace drama that accompanies his new job at Quick-Lube while dealing with the fallout from leaving his old job at a chain restaurant. 7 Chinese Brothers also stars Olympia Dukakis as Larry’s grandmother, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe as Larry’s only friend, and Stephen Root as a family attorney. Schwartzman’s French bulldog Arrow also plays a pivotal role in 7 Chinese Brothers as Larry’s loyal companion. Byington previously directed RSO [Registered Sex Offender], Harmony & Me, and Somebody Up There Likes Me. 7 Chinese Brothers will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 1:45 p.m. March 15 at the Topfer Theatre at ZACH, 4 p.m. March 17 at the Stateside Theatre, and 9:30 p.m. March 18 at the Alamo Ritz. 7 Chinese Brothers producer Seana Flanagan joins writer/director Bob Byington during this interview.
