Interview:
Janet Harvey,
writer/director,
"A Million Hits"
Written and directed by Janet Harvey, the Austin-shot high-school cyberbullying drama A Million Hits pits two former friends against each on social media. Ashley (Tess Cline) measures her self-worth against her popularity on the website Scenester. Ashley’s online following increases with every taunting video she posts that target her estranged BFF, Amy (Kate St. Clair). Ashley even goes as far as to have friends film her administering one beating after another to Amy. Caught in the middle is Jess (Monica Perez), an aspiring filmmaker who slowly comes to believe that Ashley is going too far in her campaign to hurt and humiliate Amy. A Million Hits, which is now is available on DVD and for streaming, represents the feature film directorial debut of Austin-based writer Janet Harvey. She wrote the 1930s-set noir graphic novel “Angel City: Town Without Pity” and has written for DC Comics, IDW, Image, and Tokyopop.
