Interview:
Dio Traverso, director,
"Invisible"
Austin director Dio Traverso’s documentary Invisible takes us inside Providence, Rhode Island’s male prostitute community. He examines why young men turned to prostitution and the struggles they face when they attempt to stop working the streets. Invisible also focuses on the efforts of the campaign of a former male prostitute to open a drop-in center as a safe haven for the men who sell themselves daily, most of whom spend their earnings on drugs. Invisible will screen 4 p.m. Sept. 11 during the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival.
