"Little Accidents"
Writer/director Sara Colangelo’s drama Little Accidents examines how a coalmine disaster shakes a small West Virginia industrial community to its very core. The Skeleton Twins’ Boyd Holbrook stars as Amos, the sole survivor of the explosion who enters into an affair with Diane Doyle (Elizabeth Banks), the wife of mine executive Bill Doyle (Josh Lucas). To make matters worse, the Doyles suffer a personal tragedy when their son goes missing. The only person who knows his whereabouts is Owen (Mud’s Jacob Lofland). The Austin Film Society will screen Little Accidents at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre as part of the Sundance Film Forward touring program. Sara Colangelo, who is in the running for the Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay Spirit Award, will participate in a post-screening Q&A moderated by Hellion director Kat Candler. Imperial Dreams, with director Malik Vitthal in attendance, will also screen 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre as part of the Sundance Film Forward touring program.
