What do you do when you are a stranger in a strange town and you are stood up by your potential soulmate? Find someone to show you the sights, of course. Written and directed by Ronald Short, the comedy Good Feels on Wheels finds San Franciscan Opal (local comedian Stephanie Thoreson) stuck alone in Austin when her long-distance boyfriend is suddenly call away on business. By chance Opal meets Wyatt (Ronald Short), who offers his services as an unofficial tour guide as he delivers small quantities of marijuana to customers in different parts of Austin. One day is all it takes to determine whether Opal and Wyatt are meant to be together. The cast includes Byron Brown, Timeca M. Seretti, Temple Baker, and Peggy Schott as marijuana consumers and Sam Eidson as Opal’s creepy Airbnb host. Good Feels on Wheels will screen 3:15 p.m. April 26 during this year’s Hill Country Film Festival at the Fritztown Cinema in Fredericksburg. The Austin-based Ronald Short previously wrote and directed 2012’s Billi & Theodore and created the 2015 web series Weekend Plans.
