Reel Women in Film Series
The Bullock Texas State History Museum launches its Reel Women in Film series at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Texas Spirit Theater with Lois Weber’s 1916 silent film Shoes. The speaker will be University of Texas at Austin associate professor Dr. Donna Kornhaber, the author of the books Charlie Chaplin, Director and Wes Anderson. The series will continue Feb. 15 with Losing Ground, March 22 with Love & Basketball, April 12 with The Smiling Madame Beudet and Meshes of the Afternoon, with live original scores, and May 3 with Twilight. The Bullock Texas State History Museum also will conclude its the 2018-2019 season of its Texas Focus series on Feb. 7 with the Zellner Brothers’ Damsel and on April 18 with Hud.
