Interview:
Justin Long, "Tusk"
In director Kevin Smith’s horror comedy Tusk, Justin Long stars as a boorish podcaster who is held captive by Michael Parks’ demented World War II veteran in his Manitoba mansion. Desperate to relive a pivotal moment in his life, Parks plots to transform Long physically and psychologically into a walrus. It’s down to Long’s girlfriend Génesis Rodríguez, fellow podcaster Haley Joel Osment, and Johnny Depp’s private detective to save him from a fate worse than death. Tusk premiered locally at this year’s Fantastic Fest and opened Sept. 19 in Austin. Justin Long, who maintains a home in Austin, is best known for his roles in Jeepers Creepers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Accepted, and Waiting …. He also is the voice of Alvin in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise. He previously starred in Kevin Smith’s Zach and Miri Make a Porno and acted opposite Smith in Live Free or Die Hard. Long spoke about Tusk during Fantastic Fest.
