November 2021 Programming
The Austin Film Society's November 2021 programming includes two major series, Over the Edge: The Herzog Restorations Part Two, featuring non-fiction films by Werner Herzog, and 8 1/2 Fellinis, which combines a selection of Federico Fellini's early and most celebrated films. Special events include the Austin Film Society and Experimental Response Cinema's commissioned work Ghosts of Lost Futures and the 2021 edition of the Australian Short Film Today traveling short film roadshow. New releases include Spencer and The Souvenir Part II, with director Joanna Hogg's 2019 The Souvenir screening concurrent to her new sequel. Other recent releases and festival offerings includes Bergman Island, Sons of Monarchs, El Planeta, and Queens of Pains, a roller derby documentary by Austin-based sisters Cassie Hay and Amy Winston. Restored and retrospective screenings include Blood for Dracula, Blue Velvet, Chameleon Street, Dogtooth, Hester Street, The Hunger, Radio On, To Live and Die in L.A., and Vertigo.
