So much for the Internet killing the video star. The inaugural Austin Music Video Festival presents screenings of 200 music videos by local acts past and present, including Okkervil River, Spoon, The Bright Light Social Hour, The Black Angels, The Octopus Project, Shakey Graves, Bob Schneider, Gary Clark Jr., Wild Child, Max Frost, and Quiet Company. The Austin Music Video Festival will run Sept. 16-19 at various venues, including the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, the Vulcan Gas Company, and The North Door. The festival opens with a screening of Okkervil River’s short music film Down Down the Deep River and followed by an acoustic performance by Okkervil River singer Will Sheff. There are will be workshops, panels, and an awards show.
